PURPOSE:
Assists the Grocery Manager in the management of the Grocery Department (which encompasses Frozen, Dairy, and Liquor/Beer), including the provision of guidance and instruction to personnel. Plays a role in ordering, receiving, safeguarding, pricing, stocking, and showcasing products. May supervise the entire store if the Store Director and the Grocery Manager are absent.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Interacts with customers in a courteous manner, ensuring prompt and satisfactory handling of customer complaints.
Performs multiple responsibilities such as arranging orders, receiving shipments, organizing inventory, setting rates, restocking merchandise, and displaying products. Works alongside the Grocery Manager in planning, coordinating, and supervising daily grocery activities and front-end functional aspects, providing advice on regular and seasonal inventory requirements and exclusive marketing essentials. Implements the Company's and Departmental policies concerning merchandising or directives issued by the Store Director.
Acts as a backup verifier. Implements suggestive promotion and various marketing strategies.
The proper recording of sales, storing and upkeeping of cash register tape details, and managing money exchange at check stands fall under the purview of this role.
Strategic Planning: Another important responsibility of a manager is to develop and implement strategic plans for the organization. The manager must analyze market trends and develop strategies to address changes in the industry, as well as create plans to achieve long-term goals
Duties of a night stocker include organizing products, removing discontinued items, and updating prices as necessary.
The reduction in inventory loss has been ensured. The out of date merchandise is not allowed to hit the shelves.
Commences and ceases the store's functioning.
Guarantees that the company complies with its sanitation, safety, security and other policies, taking necessary corrective measures as required.
Executes emergency protocols in response to equipment and computer software failures.
This position assumes the responsibility of managing the store and its employees, as well as handling customer complaints, in the absence of the Store Director and the Grocery Manager.
If the Receiving Clerk is not present, this individual may fulfill the duties of the Receiving Clerk.
The incumbent is required to execute all tasks with exactitude, sincerity, and moral values.

The ability to maintain mental acuity and quick decision-making skills to ensure that work activities are completed safely and accurately.
Safety cutters may be used in conjunction with cleaning supplies and chemicals to ensure safe use.
